I patent that Xiaomi presents every year are many. Just think that in 2020 alone there can be more than 500. Yet many of these they will never see the light. Regardless of the certifying body (CNIPA rather than WIPO), many of these projects do not see the light for various reasons, such as construction costs. Today we go to see a 'interesting patent which does not concern a product but a service that can be integrated on a smartphone: the "anti-peeping" technology against prying eyes.
Xiaomi's anti-peeping technology would allow greater protection of sensitive data: something that many companies are thinking about
Privacy for Xiaomi comes first and we have seen it with exclusive features of MIUI or with ISO certifications which the company recently received. The latest news we have discovered from Chinese sources tells us about one technology that is actually not entirely new in the tech scene. It is a service "anti-peeping"Or anti-prying eyes. The more informed will know that Apple has also integrated a similar service on its MacBook which allows you to obscure the text you are reading at the time the device recognizes strangers glances that are not those of the owner.
The patent abstract shows that the device (smartphone or PC) uses a full-time operating sensor which serves to detect at least one face appearing within a predetermined interval. Basically this sensor will work continuously at regular intervals and will be able to peck other faces other than those it has potentially memorized. By carefully reading the description in the patent, we understand that the operation involves several steps: the preventive acquisition of an image containing at least one face, recognition of the same face through the used sensor, phase in which the system judges whether a second face is "peeping out", blocking in some way the action that is taking place on the device.
With this terminal anti-peeping method, it's possible prevent the user's privacy from being violatedto and that confidential files are leaked. Now, it is impossible to say when and how this functionality will actually enter the system. Furthermore, it is not clear which system we are talking about: in fact, the interface is not mentioned in any way MIUI nor the system Windows of PCs.
