Just yesterday we told you about one new device that is about to be announced, to be precise on December 24, with the name Xiaomi Play, and we also made you understand that this smartphone will most likely not be the Chinese version of the Pocophone F1 that was previously talked about, but rather a completely different terminal or even the possible successor to the Xiaomi Redmi 6.
Well, today from China new news arrives that confirm the presentation date together with other details, at least as far as design is concerned. So let's start from the notch, which as you can clearly see in the picture below is of the drop type, so much smaller than what we find on some of the many smartphones released by Xiaomi in the 2018.

In addition to being "affected" by the notch, the display is also surrounded by fairly thick edges in the upper part and on the sides, as well as a very abundant "chin" (the lower part). All details that lead us to think that we are in the presence of a medium-range terminal or even entry-level.
At least until we move to the back where instead we see a back cover glass with fingerprint sensor in the center and the two traffic lights, very in line with the Mi series that entry-level is not. Between the two cameras it is assumed there could also be that sensor from 48MP that Lin Bin had wavered a long time ago, causing us to think that this Xiaomi Play will be another Xiaomi Mi 8 Lite style device, that is mainly focused on photography (the 8 Lite Mi has a front camera from 24MP).
The Xiaomi Play could then have the same front 24MP sensor front of the 8 Lite Mi and a 48MP camera from behind to take pictures of the highest quality in any situation.
As for the other specifications instead, it is really difficult to indicate the processor that could go from the low / medium range Snapdragon 636 up to the flagship Snapdragon 710, but we expect at least 4GB of RAM, 64GB of internal memory and 3000mAh battery up.
