Xiaomi is preparing to announce what we hope is the latest smartphone for the 2018, we talk about the Xiaomi Play that tomorrow on Monday 24 December will be officialized in China.
In the last hours before the presentation, there seem to be a good number of rumors and speculations that on the one hand confirm what we thought and on the other add doubts, at least for one of the most important components: the processor.
Xiaomi Play will cost over 200 € with probable CPU MediaTek Helio P70
Let's start from the information that today the president of Xiaomi in person, Lin Bin, would confirm on the Chinese social Weibo. In the image published online, the Xiaomi Play is given with a screen from 5,84 inches, Full HD resolution + (2280 × 1080) and an aspect ratio of 19: 9 (as we said here). The display would also have a contrast ratio of 1500: 1, ways to reduce visual fatigue, a light panel and much more.
Lin Bin then added that this smaller screen compared to the other options of the Chinese house, allows to have a device with the size of a 5 inches a few years ago, ie before the aspect ratio changed from 16: 9 to 18 : 9 and now 19: 9. So, if you were waiting for a more compact smartphone, Xiaomi could have created one for you.
This, as long as the price and other specifications that we will now list, do not change your mind. Just yesterday, in fact, we gave the Xiaomi Play out with a processor MediaTek Helio P30 because of the maximum CPU frequency at 2,3Ghz. Well, today that rumor seems to have been debunked as many suggest that the smartphone can instead be equipped with a MediaTek Helio P70 overclocked to 2,3Ghz, if not even the Helio P90; even if this last hypothesis seems much less probable.
As for memory, we will have at least 6GB of RAM and two versions with 64GB and 128GB of internal memory.
Finally, the Xiaomi Play is given out at the price of 1699 Yuan, which translated into euros are about 215 €. A figure poco competitive if it really came with a MediaTek Helio P30 CPU, since only the Chinese will benefit from 10GB of free traffic per month, which we were talking about , promising.
