
Xiaomi seems to have surprised everyone with a new product just inserted in its store (Chinese) but which is not yet officially on sale. This is the Xiaomi Pocket Photo Printer, or the pocket printer produced by the Chinese giant in the first person, so no sub-brand or satellite brand in this case. The product will go into the crowdfunding campaign starting from September 11th at 10 with a starting price of 299 Yuan (38 €), to then go on sale officially at the list price of 349 Yuan (44 €).

Xiaomi Pocket Photo Printer, here comes the new pocket printer

The Xiaomi Pocket Photo Printer is a printer with ultra-compact dimensions made of ABS and PC material resistant to shocks and flames. On the device we find only three buttons, for a more minimal and elegant style, while in one of the sides we find the slider to insert the paper for printing with a simple movement.
The Xiaomi pocket printer can print three-inch diagonal photos and uses ZINK Inkless Printing Tech technology. In addition, printed photos support AR (augmented reality) technology with video, photos and music.

This means that we can take a photo or a video, upload the files online and print a photo that once viewed through the Mijia app will show us that file. In other words, we will be able to revive printed photos (see example above). We can then do the same with photos and audio, recording or uploading an audio track that will then be played when we go to scan the photo printed with the app.
Obviously there are various themes to create more interesting photos, like puzzle effects, effects for additional texts and much more.

The Pocket Photo Printer is not the first Xiaomi printer of this type. Towards the end of the 2018, in fact, the Chinese brand launched another that had a huge success, the Mijia Photo Printer, less compact but that could print photos with 6 inch size, 300 × 300 dpi resolution and thermal sublimation printing.
