Xiaomi POCOPHONE F1 Hands On

Xiaomi with the launch of the new brand POCO that will give life to the smartphone POCOPHONE F1 seems to have really hit the mark and so the hype before August 22, the official release date, seems to skyrocket. To dampen the wait we think the staff of the Android Authority blog who has already managed to get their hands on the device by revealing most of the details that we will see in the next Chinese flagship which will give a hard time to the best models of the most famous brands, above all in India, such as OnePlus and Huawei.

Il POCOPHONE F1 inherits most of the features and design of the Mi 8, such as the optimization of the display frames but also the much hated / loved upper notch on the screen, that is the notch. And here we will find a 20 megapixel photo sensor as well as a 5,99 inch screen with Full HD + resolution. It is actually pointed out that the edges of the POCOPHONE are slightly larger than those of the Mi 8, but in any case, the WOW effect on a visual level is guaranteed. This becomes necessary by virtue of the fact that POCOPHONE F1 will adopt a back cover made of polycarbonate, a solution that will allow to contain the final cost of the product.

In terms of performance, the new top of the range adopts a Snapdragon 845 processor which in combination with 6 GB of RAM and 64 GB of ROM will guarantee fluidity and speed to the system, even if there are rumors of a variant with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage indoor. On balance, an equipment that we have already been able to appreciate on all the top of the range of this 2018, but which in POCOPHONE F1 is perhaps better optimized, thanks to a liquid cooling system, which allows clearly superior performance to OnePlus 6 and Samsung Galaxy S9.

The rear camera, on the other hand, will be diposed vertically, but not as a "traffic light", but is inspired by the two devices just mentioned, resulting in poco protruding from the body. The colleagues of the Android Authority inform us that the software supplied with the camera is not yet official, even if the results are quite promising: a mix between the performance of Huawei P20 and Mi 8.

Xiaomi POCOPHONE F1 Hands On

The operating system is based on Android 8.1 Oreo and customized MIUI 9,6 interface for POCOPHONE F1, but perhaps still in beta, as there are numerous bugs, some of which affect the functionality related to the notch. The icons for some notifications disappear in the status bar, while the clock on the lock screen is partially displayed, in short, the basic problems seen on Mi 8 remain and therefore it is the case that Xiaomi before the official launch solves them promptly.

Certainly POCOPHONE F1 is an interested terminate but perhaps you do not feel the real need, by virtue that the real top of the range of this 2018, on behalf of Xiaomi will be the Mi Mix 3. Everything will decide the price anyway, even if on paper POCOPHONE F1 seems superior to Mi 8, but with less precious materials and perhaps even less amazing hardware, at least judging the optical sensors of the photographic sector, while in terms of autonomy we should have guaranteed a good yield thanks to a capacity of 4000 mAh. And what do you think of it?

Nerd, Geek, Netizen, terms that do not belong to me. Simply myself, technology lover and provocative as Xiaomi does with his products. High quality at fair prices, a real provocation for the other most famous brands.
