Xiaomi introduces a new Mi WiFi Router from 2 TB

About three months ago Xiaomi presented the new generation of Mi WiFi Router, which includes a couple of different models, including the one with a mechanical HDD by 1 TB on board to allow the device to function as a NAS or as a server FTP | Xiaomi Mi Wi-Fi Router: Officially presented the new generation |. In the last few hours we discovered that in Xiaomi a special version of Mi WiFi Router was presented with onboard 2 TB of storage always via mechanical HDD.

The new device, called for the occasion Router 2048 (2048 GB is the actual amount of storage available), it also brings other new features to the original version. A concrete example of these changes is the reduction of RAM memory from 512 MB to 256 MB and the addition of a flash drive from 512 MB to cram all installed applications. Another novelty concerns the WiFi antennas, now more powerful than ever and able to guarantee even greater coverage than before. It may seem like a step backwards made by Xiaomi to halve the RAM memory and in fact, before expressing ourselves, we want to inform ourselves better about the situation.

As for the selling price, Xiaomi has implemented an interesting promotion that allowed the first 1000 customers to buy the new 2048 Router at the symbolic price of 1 yuan. All the others will have to pay the full price of 999 yuan, which will also receive a bundle of accessories, such as the Ethernet cable. Needless to say, marketing is only foreseen in the Chinese market.
