Official: Xiaomi presents the most powerful wireless charging in the world | Video

UPDATE AT THE END OF THE ARTICLE

Xiaomi will not always be the first to reach the goals, but it is undoubtedly one of the companies that puts the most effort into it. Today we talk about wireless charging, the one that allows smartphones to recharge their battery without the use of a cable. From 2018 Lei Jun's brand has been able to bring the initial 7.5W to a good level 50W with the new Xiaomi Mi 10 Ultra. But did it stop there? No. After Oppo announced his new one AirVOOC 65W, Xiaomi has set to work and tomorrow will unveil the new wireless charging technology.

Xiaomi aims high, very high: the presentation of the new wireless charging is scheduled for tomorrow. A new record is expected

In a recent post on the Weibo official channel, the company has announced that tomorrow there will be very important news about the wireless sector. In particular, the one that refers to wireless charging. In just two years, starting from 2018, Xiaomi has made big steps forward in terms of power and therefore voltage. A short outline to remember the goals:

  • March 2018: Xiaomi Mi MIX 2S presented with wireless charging a 7.5w;
  • October 2018: Xiaomi Mi MIX 3 with recharge a 10w;
  • February 2019: Xiaomi Mi 9 with recharge a 20w;
  • September 2019: Xiaomi Mi 9 Pro with recharge a 30w;
  • March 2020: start search for cordless charging a 40w;
  • August 2020: presentation Xiaomi mi 10 ultra (China only, it is not coming to Europe as claimed) with a 50w.

xiaomi heralds a new record for wireless charging

As we can see in the image above, the company has announced for the tomorrow's day a new record. Unfortunately, the most important information will only be revealed in a few hours: how much will the power amount? We have an idea: considering what is the record set by Oppo, we think that Xiaomi wants to overcome it (70W) or at least equals it (65W). It is understood that this is not a technology that can be immediately integrated into the company's smartphones. For this reason it seems only right to emphasize that (as will be said in a few days) it is not certain that Xiaomi Mi MIX 4 will be able to count on this new recharge.

What do you think about it? Do you think the brand will overtake Oppo?

UPDATE - 19/10/2020

Oppo has clearly been overcome. The news is now official: the The world's most powerful wireless charging for smartphones is from Xiaomi. This morning the brand announced the wireless charging technology with power 80W. A monstrosity if we consider that the cable has come to 120w.

In this video you can see a prototype (no, it is not Xiaomi Mi 11 nor Xiaomi Mi MIX 4 but a modified Mi 10 Pro) at work with recharging a 80w. In 1 minute the smartphone arrives at 10% of chargein 8 minutes to 50% and 19 minutes net reaches the 100%. It is a cell from 4000 mAh and therefore standard, perhaps even a bit small compared to the smartphones we are used to seeing. This however is only a prototype and it will not go on sale anytime soon. In any case it seems that the company has in mind to present one vertical base and not a mini pad on which to place the smartphone "back".
