Despite the Redmi 7A has been released less than six months ago, to be exact the 28 in China in May, Xiaomi or rather the Redmi sub-brand has already presented the successor of the company's most entry-level smartphone, we are talking about the new Redmi 8A.
Official Redmi 8A in India, with 5000mAh battery and 18W recharge
The smartphone remembers in many ways the Redmi 7A at least from the point of view of the specifications, even if as we had anticipated a few weeks ago in this article, the design has been made more modern on the front thanks to the notch that replaces the old upper edge. The display instead has a size of 6.22 inches diagonal and HD + resolution, so it will not be the sharpest screen but in its price range we can not expect much more. However, we find a Corning Gorilla Glass 5 glass cover for scratch and impact resistance on a par with the various flagships currently on the market.
Inside the Redmi 8A we then have the typical entry-level hardware, then a Qualcomm Snapdragon 439 processor, 2GB or 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal memory, obviously expandable via microSD card.
As for the cameras, the smartphone is equipped with an excellent 12MP rear camera (Sony IMX363 sensor) with pixels from 1,4um in size, Dual PD and f / 1,8 focal aperture. While in front we have an 8MP sensor with different selfie embellishment modes.
But the strength of Redmi 8A is above all the battery / recharge compartment. The smartphone in fact adopts an 5000mAh battery that coupled with the very efficient processor should bring a more than optimal autonomy, moreover we also have the recharge to well 18W that in this price range has never been available, so as to be able to recharge it even faster (the charger included in the package is instead from 10W, always above the average of 5W).
Finally, the icing on the cake is the reloading interface, Redmi has in fact managed to equip the cheapest smartphone with a USB Type-C port, or the reversible one. As you well know this feature is almost impossible to find in entry-level devices.
Other features on the Redmi 8A include a cover made of P2i material that makes it water resistant (but not waterproof) and the presence of the FM radio.
The Redmi 8A was presented today in India at the 6499 Rupee figure (around 83 €) for the version with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of memory, while the variant with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage will cost 6999 Rupees (on 90 €) . Although we have no official info, the smartphone should be released in the rest of the world in the weeks to follow.
