For a couple of weeks now, the Xiaomi sub-brand, Redmi, has been lighting up our interest by talking about a future main camera device from 64MP, but until now we had no idea when it would be presented.
Well, the official profile of Redmi on the Chinese social media Weibo has just released a teaser that could confirm the arrival of the 7 in August, although it is still not clear what series of smartphones it is.
Xiaomi and Redmi: Scheduled a conference on the future of photography
To be precise, the teaser seems to portray (summarily) the diaphragm of a camera with an inscription in English that says "Images of the Future" (images of the future), while the translated Chinese part means "Xiaomi conference on the future of photography ".
As we said previously, even if the teaser does not tell us the name of the device coming, the smartphone in question could be the next Redmi Note 8, this time with Samsung GW1 sensor from 64MP.
The new Samsung GW1 sensor recently launched was created to capture bright and detailed images in all light conditions thanks to Tetracell technology and 3D HDR, which allows you to take photos from 16MP in low light conditions, combining pixels from 0,8um and making them become 1,6um, effectively capturing more light. There is also ISOCELL Plus technology to significantly increase sensitivity to light, creating photos with more faithful and clear colors.
That being said, other Chinese media instead suggest that it may be a periscope target terminal. This type of lens, already present on smartphones like the Huawei P30 Pro and Oppo Reno, would give us the possibility of zooming up to 5X at an optical level and therefore without loss of details. Furthermore it could be further digitally zoomed up to 50X or beyond depending on the software settings developed by Xiaomi.
In any case, we advise you to take this news with pincers as there is also the possibility that 7 August Xiaomi and Redmi will talk about the different technologies that we will see in future smartphones, in fact leaving us without any real presentation and, in many ways , maybe it would be better this way. In fact, Xiaomi / Redmi smartphones abound, while the photographic sector is still at three, with a “normal”, ultra-wide angle and telephoto lens, when competitors like Huawei and Oppo have already implemented four cameras and more advanced technologies .
