The collaboration between Google and Xiaomi led to the birth of Mi A1, the first smartphone of the company to be equipped with Android One, although we can consider it the Global version of the Mi 5X but without MIUI interface. The 31 December 2017 the Xiaomi Mi A1 has received the update to Android Oreo also providing the security patch of January thus maintaining the promise of the release of updates quickly, as a strength of the Android One system.
However Xiaomi has stopped for 2 times updates as there seemed to be annoying bugs that led users to complain directly on the company's forum, reporting problems related to a rapid battery depletion, slow start of the app so that many users have preferred go back to Nougat. But nevertheless Xiaomi made a difficult decision and released the source code of the Mi A1 kernel, thus giving the possibility to developers to create custom ROMs and take full advantage of the hardware potential offered by their device.
Recall that the Xiaomi Mi A1 is powered by an octacore Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor coupled with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal memory expandable up to 128 GB. It is equipped with 5,5 inch IPS display with Full HD resolution while the photo / video compartment is secured by a dual rear camera with 12 MP sensor while on the front we find the selfie camera from 5 MP.
Surely this news will make the happiness of the community behind the development of ROM for the Mi A1, a device that seems not to find peace with the Oreo updates and with the bugs that it carries with it. It would almost be said that perhaps it was better that the Android One project had never been developed. However interested users or developers can go on GitHub for download.
