To offer the so-called WOW effect, smartphone manufacturers have long been looking for more or less functional solutions to the success of the purpose. We speak of course of the opportunity to offer a samrtphone equipped with a full display, that is, that covers a surface available with a percentage close to 100% and that above all it is not interrupted by any disturbing element such as notches, notches, holes etc .. And in these years we have seen everything from both mechanical and electronic sled systems, to pop-up cameras but also to rotating or flippable rear cameras, in short real innovations that often have also resulted in tech "castronerie", such as the introduction a dual display in order to take advantage of the rear photo compartment as a selfie camera.
The solution that giants like Xiaomi are thinking about is to introduce the selfie camera directly under the display, a bit like success with the fingerprint reader, but given the use of the camera element you understand for yourself the difficulty in the success of the company. In the past we have witnessed a smartphone prototype with the selfie camera integrated under the display and since then developments have made great strides thanks to the partnership with the Visionox company, an established Chinese reality in the display field.

Apparently Visionox has managed to develop an OLED screen capable of integrating a selfie camera under the surface of the display. But the most fascinating thing is that the Visionox panel seems ready for mass production, thus creating the possibility of seeing this technology within a Xiaomi smartphone, probably a top of the range as the expected Mi Mix 4, a series that still pays for the lack of innovation compared to the first generation.
To make the impossible possible, Visionox has increased the transparency of the OLED panel right in the area where the camera is located, using new organic materials and a new design in the pixel structure. The software used will also be complicit, with a specific function of eliminating diffraction, allowing the front camera to obtain clear and sharp photographs.
However, at the moment it is not known when we will see the first smartphone with this type of technology. But given the evolution in progress, it is probable that already within this year we will witness the miracle and the debut of this technology, giving way to a real challenge among the various mobile OEMs.
