It looks official: Xiaomi will send updates via Google server

As many of us will know, when Xiaomi, like many other brands, release updates of their ROMs (MIUI in our case) these come for gods server that have nothing to do with those of Google. However, it sometimes happens that certain particular updates can be released through these latter servers. But what does it mean when this happens? Actually nothing too complicated and alarming. Let's try to understand what is happening in the case of Redmi Note 8 Pro.

UPDATE AT THE END OF THE ARTICLE

It is happening on the non-EU ROMs of Redmi Note 8 Pro that the updates arrive via Google server. Will it also happen for other Xiaomi?

In the last few hours, many reports through Telegram e Twitter are pointing out a "change of policy ”for the release of updates. Do not worry: Xiaomi is not changing servers and even if it were, for us users in the end it would not change anything. It could be a temporary bug or of an malfunction. In fact, according to what was reconstructed, users who own Redmi Note 8 Pro are receiving theupdate A11 through the Google server instead of the "private" one of Xiaomi. For what reason?

At the moment no explanation has been given but most likely, as we anticipated, it is a bug or a malfunction of Xiaomi's proprietary servers. In fact, the whole thing it is manifesting only on one device, or Redmi Note 8 Pro. What could have happened? Or the brand's servers are momentarily on maintenance and therefore the updates have been physically "moved" to the Big G servers, or it is simply a error which, fortunately, absolutely does not affect the daily use for us users.

Ultimately: no problem, don't worry why nothing serious happened. It often happens that some updates arrive via software even if we do not notice them. From social networks we understand some concern since some believe that Xiaomi is changing policy. It might as well be, but it's not worrying as a thing after all.

SECURITY UPDATE TRAINING

After a few months we continue to talk about this matter. As he points out (again) kacskrz it seems that Xiaomi's policy on updates will change. For now we have two clues, but as we know every three clues there is a proof. Below is a screenshot of the last one MIUI update to Redmi Note 8 Pro (with ROM India).

It is written that all updates that will be sent by Google. This could mean that Xiaomi is changing modes. We do not know if this new policy will also be implemented in the Global ROMs of other branches, such as the European, Indonesian and so on. The fact is that something is seriously changing.
