Xiaomi Smart Band 10 vs Smart Band 9: all the differences

La Xiaomi Smart Band 10 arrived on time in Italy, a year after the Band 9, and remains faithful to the winning line of the brand: an essential fitness tracker, without frills, that covers the fundamentals well and does not betray on the battery. But this time Xiaomi has slipped in some clever innovations that, although not revolutionary, could be tempting. Here are all the differences between the two smartbands.

Xiaomi Smart Band 10 vs Xiaomi Smart Band 9

The design remains faithful to tradition: curved rectangular screen, no physical buttons, all touch interface. But something changes: the Smart Band 10 adopts a new ceramic case (in addition to the sandblasted aluminum one), which makes it visually more refined and tactically more solid.

The frames become thinner and the AMOLED display expands up to 1,72 inchesa sharp jump in brightness (from 1200 to 1500 nits) which improves readability under direct sunlight. 0,1 more inches may not seem like much, but the clarity of the new panel, combined with a refresh rate of 60Hz, contributes to a smoother and less tiring viewing experience.

Xiaomi's ability to keep autonomy unchanged (up to 21 days) despite the most demanding screen.

A seemingly minor detail, but one that broadens the usage scenarios, is theIntroduction of the electronic compass. By itself, it does not turn the Xiaomi Smart Band 10 into a navigator, but it supports new features such as precise orientation in water and the accuracy of lap counting, which now reaches 96% according to internal tests. By the way: for the first time, the device Monitors your heart rate even while swimming.

The sensor block remains unchanged for the rest, and that's not necessarily a bad thing: the accelerometer, gyroscope, optical heart rate monitor, SpO₂, and ambient light sensor continue to provide solid tracking. There's still no built-in GPS, but the Smart Band 10 could receive a Pro variant in the future, as already happened for the previous model.

On the software side, the new version of HyperOS 2.0 OS customization makes the experience smoother and continues to sync with the Mi Fitness app. Interesting is the introduction of the Real-time heart rate transmission to external devices via Bluetooth, especially useful for those who use apps like Strava.
