The global market for wrist-worn wearable devices is booming, and Xiaomi Xiaomi confirms its position as the absolute leader in the sector. According to the latest report published by analyst firm Omdia, in the second quarter of 2025, global smart band shipments reached 50,2 million units, representing a 13% annual growth rate. Against this backdrop, Xiaomi emerged as the fastest-growing manufacturer with the highest smart band shipment volume, surpassing longtime competitors such as Huawei, Apple, Samsung, and the Indian brand Noise.

Xiaomi's success is mainly driven by two key products: the Mi Band and the REDMI Band, which continue to enjoy great success thanks to their excellent value for money, advanced tracking features, and deep integration with HyperOS, Xiaomi's proprietary operating system.
In detail, Xiaomi recorded annual growth of 61%, a figure that places it clearly ahead of Huawei and Samsung, which are also growing, while Apple saw a 1% drop in shipments, a sign of a possible saturation of the premium segment.

The report also highlights a structural shift in the market: a shift from a hardware-driven to an ecosystem-driven model, where user loyalty and digital services are becoming central. In China, Xiaomi is capitalizing on this trend, leveraging the depth of its product portfolio and the intelligent connectivity offered by HyperOS to create integrated experiences across smart bands, smartphones, home appliances, and other IoT devices.
Huawei, for its part, is building a closed ecosystem focused on health, through the Huawei Health app, which combines hardware, data analysis, and subscription services.

This is going to be incredibly useful for my work.
