Xiaomi has released in China the Smart Door Lock 2 Finger Vein Enhanced Edition, a device that takes home security to a new level with advanced biometric technologies and AI capabilities. The product will be available from June 7, with a starting price of 1.699 yuan (about 220 euros).

Compared to the Smart Door Lock 2 Finger Vein Edition, this new version introduces two key improvements:
- AI Cat's Eye, an integrated smart camera that allows you to monitor visitors directly from the internal screen.
- Large visual display, which also allows the elderly and children to easily monitor who is in front of the door.
The lock is equipped with a AI algorithm for human detection, which automatically records and sends notifications when someone approaches and stays in front of the door. In addition, the doorbell automatically lights up when pressed, allowing you to check the situation in real time, wherever you are.
Il vein recognition system uses infrared light to obtain detailed images of blood vessels, ensuring accurate and secure identification. This technology solves the problems associated with fingerprint wear, making the device ideal for the elderly and children, who often have difficulty with traditional sensors.
Each time the system recognizes a user, it autonomously learns the characteristics of the veins, improving accuracy over time. This means that the lock becomes more and more efficient with use, adapting to the natural variations of the skin and blood circulation.
Xiaomi has developed a new fully automatic lock body, with noise reduction. After recognition, there is no need to turn the handle, as the latch automatically retracts. In addition, the door locks itself when closed, eliminating the risk of forgetting to close it.
The Smart Door Lock 2 Finger Vein Enhanced Edition supports ten unlocking modes, including:

The device integrates multiple security systems, including communication protection, unlocking security, electronic security, structural security, alarm system and internal memory protection.
The lock is powered by four alkaline batteries combined with a 5.000mAh lithium battery, providing up to a year of battery life. It also supports emergency charging via Type-C, ensuring continuous operation even if the main battery runs out.
