Xiaomi SU7 Ultra announced: a 1.548 horsepower prototype

In these days, Xiaomi held its biggest event of the year, where it unveiled several new devices, including the SU7 Ultra prototype.

Xiaomi SU7 Ultra announced: a 1.548 horsepower prototype

The SU7 Ultra introduces the HyperEngine V8s electric motor of Xiaomi, the most powerful of the company. With a maximum speed of 27.200 rpm, 578 horsepower and maximum torque of 635 Nm, this engine is a true technological jewel. However, a single engine wouldn't be enough to fulfill the Ultra's bold promises.

The SU7 Ultra prototype is equipped with three electric motors – two V8S and one V6S – which generate a maximum combined power of 1.548 horsepower. That is more power than the Lucid Air Sapphire or the Zeekr 001 FR and almost 52% more than the Tesla Model S Plaid.

To make the most of these three electric motors, the SU7 Ultra is equipped with world's first Kirin 2 battery, jointly developed by Xiaomi and CATL. This 897V battery pack offers up to 1.330 kW of discharge power and maintains over 800 kW even at a 20% charge level.

When the battery runs out, it can be recharged at a rate of 5.2C, which means it can be recharged in less than 12 minutes. In simple terms, assuming the Ultra has the same 101 kWh capacity as the other SU7s, supports charging at over 520 kW.

The Xiaomi SU7 Ultra has all its panels in carbon fiber, reducing the weight to 1.900 kg, approximately 300 kg less than the standard SU7. With all these technological innovations, the Ultra boasts breathtaking acceleration times: from zero to 100 km/h in just 1,97 seconds, reaches 200 km/h in 5,96 seconds and has a top speed of over 350 km/h.

Finally, the design of the SU7 Ultra is even more aggressive with a lightning yellow finish. A low front spoiler channels air across the hood, extended side skirts improve airflow and an oversized rear wing produces more downforce.

Xiaomi said the SU7 Ultra prototype will attempt to break the Nurburgring record for non-production cars in October this year, with plans to challenge the record for production cars in 2025. This means a new one is on the way road approved version.
