This morning, the president and co-founder of Xiaomi, Lin Bin, published the AnTuTu list with the best performing devices currently on the market. In the ranking we see the Xiaomi Mi 9 dominate both in the basic version and the Mi 9 Explorer Edition positioned at the top.
So Xiaomi has in fact the two most powerful smartphones on the market, at least for the average scores calculated on all the benchmarks performed to date, not the highest scores ever.
So far so good, but Lin Bin didn't stop there. The boss of Xiaomi has also approached the general manager of Redmi, Lu Weibing, telling him "Friends of Redmi, you are welcome to participate". Weibing's answer was not long in coming, with a "We are ready" (we are ready) written in English, so as to make it clear that Redmi is also interested in dominating the world market.
The challenge will be quite interesting given that the next flagship terminal of the Redmi house will have the exact same processor as the Xiaomi flagship, the Xiaomi Mi 9. As you well know, this will be the first Redmi smartphone with real top-of-the-range hardware, up until now the brand had in fact been dedicated to the entry-level and medium-high range with the latest Redmi Note 7 Pro.
In addition to the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor that adopts a 7nm production process with new 3-cluster and 8-core architecture and Adreno 640 GPU, Redmi's flagship will also have a front camera with pop-up technology, it will then automatically pop up when you go to take a selfie and there will be no notches or holes on the screen for a truly full screen design.
Among the other features anticipated by Lu Weibing in person we have then the presence of an NFC module, long requested on a Redmi device, of thin edges with the lower one similar to the Xiaomi Mi 9 and an audio jack from 3.5mm to use one's favorite headphones .
If instead we go to see the rumors up to now, in many they give the flagship with a fingerprint sensor under the screen and consequent AMOLED display (LCD screens do not support scanner technology), a rear camera from 48MP, most likely sensor Sony IMX586, front camera from 32MP for ultra-high resolution selfies and the typical large 4000mAh battery or more.
What to say, Redmi's first real flagship store promises to be a must buy. We hope to remain of the same opinion after the official presentation!
