In short, rather than counting on software optimization, our brand decides to focus on quantity. Clearly, before arriving at 256 megapixels Xiaomi will have to go through a middle. And it is precisely that of the 150 megapixels that it could travel. Yesterday the well-known Chinese blogger Ice Universe shared a post on Weibo where he announces that Samsung has recently finished developing a sensor with this amount of megapixels.
In addition to communicating the end of the Korean company's work on this monstrous sensor, the Chinese leaker and blogger (whom we remember to be among the most quoted and reliable on the square) said that Xiaomi would plan to launch it on a smartphone during Q4 2020. This means that by the end of the year, the Chinese giant that debuted first with a 108 megapixel on Xiaomi Mi Note 10 will plan to come out with some other witchcraft.
At present it is not clear whether these 150 are the same 144 megapixels that we told you about earlier. We don't even know if the device that will integrate this huge sensor will actually be called Xiaomi Mi CC10. What is certain is that the leaker has only named Xiaomi. For many of you it will probably seem obvious as a thing, but given the recent software developments (think of Oppo Find X2 Pro who reached the top of DxOMark with a main camera from only 48 megapixels) perhaps Xiaomi wants to recover the primacy by focusing on quality.
At the hardware level we already have processors that can support such a quantity of data. Already the mid-range Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G manages to reach 144. Just to name one that can reach that figure: Snapdragon 865 supports images up to 200 megapixel (256 actually, as we saw for Black Shark 3).
If this leak turns out to be true, we can assume that it will be Xiaomi Mi Mix 4 to integrate the sensor. How about?
