Xiaomi will be among the companies to use Material You. That means she won't be the only one. The former editor of XDA-Developers Mishal Rahman published a screenshot of the Android 12 code snippet mentioning the Material You function. There are also some vendors listed there, in whose smartphones a new system interface chip should soon appear. The list includes Oppo, realme, OnePlus, alive and many other small and large brands. Below is the screenshot in which the name of our favorite company is shown.
Google had previously confirmed that the corresponding code would be added to the AOSP repository poco after the release of Android 12. However, at the time, it was unclear whether a vendor other than Google was interested in supporting dynamic themes. This is because many of them have their own Android customizations with its own launcher, its own icons and a whole series of personalized perks.
These companies will be able to apply their own color matching algorithms based on the main hue of the installed wallpaper. However, and this also applies to Xiaomi with Material You, the hue will differ from that used by Google. Probably this news was expected by users, although not foreseen in an "official way".
