Xiaomi has recently introduced a new feature that promises to transform the world of tablet gaming: the WinPlay. Designed for the Xiaomi Pad 6S Pro 12.4, this technology allows you to play Windows games directly on the tablet, without the need for an internet connection. An innovative solution that takes tablet gaming to the next level.
WinPlay Debuts: Windows Games Arrive on Xiaomi Tablets

The Director of Xiaomi Mobile System Software Department, Zhang Guoquan, explained that the WinPlay engine uses a core technology called Xiaomi HyperCore. This technology creates a virtual environment on the tablet that efficiently supports Windows games, ensuring high performance and stability. Users can easily access games from popular platforms such as Steam and GOG, download them directly, and enjoy a smooth and immersive gaming experience.
WinPlay supports a wide range of gaming peripherals, including controllers, keyboards, and mice, ensuring a PC-like gaming experience. It also offers support for multiplayer gaming with up to four players. Xiaomi has also optimized WinPlay for Xbox controller, allowing users to enjoy improved haptic feedback, making the gaming experience even more immersive.
According to Xiaomi's internal tests, the GPU performance loss through WinPlay is minimal, only 2,9%, ensuring near-native gaming performance. With a average power consumption of just 8,3W, the system is both efficient and reliable. Xiaomi has implemented a three-layer virtualization system to handle essential APIs, image rendering, and command execution, providing a smooth user experience with minimal resource usage.

The intelligent resource allocation system further enhances the gaming experience by reducing the load on system resources. This ensures smooth performance from game loading to rendering, with excellent fluidity throughout the entire gaming process.
Currently, WinPlay is limited to the Xiaomi Pad 6S Pro and does not support running standard Windows applications. However, Xiaomi plans to refine and expand this feature based on user feedback. The company has not yet announced a timeline for a stable release, but it aims to release a refined product in the near future.
For Pad 6S Pro 12.4 users, Xiaomi has opened a beta program running Hyper OS 2 Beta. Interested participants can apply via the Xiaomi Community app and must update their device to the latest firmware. After transferring game files from a PC to a designated directory on the tablet, users can start playing by simply connecting their peripherals.
