A few days ago we reported the news of a new Xiaomi smartphone which came with an appearance identical to that of the Xiaomi Civi, but with more aggressive specifications.
Xiaomi with 4K screen? The PR manager officially denies it
The information in the certification of the device with model number “2109119BC” suggested that there was a 6,55-inch OLED screen with a resolution of 3840 * 2160 (4K).
The Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology website also showed that the smartphone was equipped with a 4400mAh battery and an eight-core chipset clocked at 2,4GHz, along with 6GB / 8GB / 12 GB / 16 GB of RAM and 64 GB / 128 GB / 256 GB / 512 GB of internal memory.
So a nice upgrade compared to the Xiaomi Civi launched last week, so as to suggest that it was his older brother, the Xiaomi Civi Pro, which has been talked about for several days.
Well, this afternoon, Wang Hua, the head of public relations at Xiaomi, responded to the news on Weibo (the Chinese Twitter) saying: “It seems that many like supplements for the brain, they think too much. While I have never heard of the device ".
This means that there should be no plans for this model within the Xiaomi series and this top of the range with 4K screen will not actually come out.
According to the Chinese media, it is apparently possible that the data from the Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology is not always correct, especially when it comes to an engineering sample not yet in the final stage of development. In particular the screen specification, which should have 4K resolution, is prone to errors, so it is very likely that Xiaomi has no plans to use 4K displays on the Xiaomi Civi Pro or other smartphones in general.
