Xiaomi has just expanded its range of smart speakers with two new smart speakers more premium than those presented a few months and that we have seen in this post. Let's talk about the Xiaomi XiaoAI Speaker and the Xiaomi XiaoAI Speaker Pro with prices ranging from 269 yuan (34 €) to 299 yuan (38 €) respectively.
The two smart speakers differ from each other in some features but also in design. The XiaoAI Speaker (not Pro) actually comes in white, while the XiaoAI Speaker Pro is only available in black. However, both products have high quality audio chips, 360 degree sound, support for stereo use and many other features; let's go and discover them together!
Xiaomi XiaoAI Speaker and XiaoAI Speaker Pro presented in China
So let's start with the size of the cavity inside the speaker, which Xiaomi claims is well 750ml, this volume allows the speaker to produce high quality sounds with a 360 degree surround effect. While the case itself has a diameter of 2,25 inches, managing to create powerful audio with deep bass.
Excellent audio quality is also possible thanks to the professional-grade audio chips produced by Texas Instruments, in particular the TAS5805 chip, with support for automatic gain control and an audio balance at 15 frequencies. Added to this is a professional development of DTS and different audio modes depending on the uses.
As for the connectivity, the XiaoAI Speaker and the XiaoAI Speaker Pro equip the Bluetooth Mesh Gateway technology, this allows you to connect the speakers to other gadgets at home such as locks or smart lights. So instead of using WiFi, it will be possible to connect different smart devices to each other through the Bluetooth Mesh connection. For example we can couple a temperature sensor, a humidifier or other and control everything very simply from the Mi Home application.
The speakers can also be connected together in pairs to create a stereo effect. In that case the audio will be divided between left and right just like a stereo system with two speakers. Alternatively you can still play the same audio in different speakers around the house.
In addition to Bluetooth connectivity, the new Xiaomi speakers can then be connected directly to a laptop, desktop, tablet or smartphone through the 3,5mm audio port on the back.
Instead, as regards the smart side, the speaker with artificial intelligence has six microphones arranged in a circle with Beamforming technology, which allows the speaker to understand where the audio comes from and therefore be able to improve voice recognition.
Finally, we left the only real difference between the two products: the presence of an infrared emitter. The Xiaomi XiaoAI Speaker Pro is in fact equipped with an IR blaster to control over 5 thousand non-smart devices such as air conditioning, TV box, TV and much more, directly from your smartphone or tablet.
As we said earlier, the Xiaomi XiaoAI Speaker and the Xiaomi XiaoAI Speaker Pro will go on sale in China at 269 yuan (34 €) and 299 yuan (38 €) respectively.
