Xiaomi YU7 SUV: Battery Size and Range of the Next EV Revealed

This morning, China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology announced the "Catalog of New Energy Vehicle Models with Purchase Tax Reduction and Exemption" (14th batch). Among the information revealed, details on the flagship models stand out, including the upcoming SUV Xiaomi, YU7. This data provides a preview of the performance and specifications of this electric vehicle.

Xiaomi YU7: Battery Size and Autonomy of the Next SUV Revealed

According to the leaked information, the Xiaomi YU7 will be available in two different battery capacity versions: 96,3 kWh and 101,7 kWh. For rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive versions, themaximum autonomy can reach 820 kilometers, an impressive result that places the YU7 among the electric vehicles with the longest autonomy on the market.

Furthermore, it is speculated that the Xiaomi YU7 will also offer a Rear-wheel drive version with 75 kWh lithium-iron-phosphate battery, similar to what we saw with the SU7 model. This choice could lower the purchase threshold and attract a younger audience.

The Xiaomi YU7 has already been announced and several photos have been taken during road tests, so there are no secrets about its external appearance. However, the internals are still shrouded in mystery and eagerly await the official presentation. With a length of 4999 mm, a width of 1996 mm, a height of 1600 mm and a wheelbase of 3000 mm, the YU7 is a mid-size SUV that offers ample interior space. The lateral distance from the centre point of the front wheel to the point of contact between the driver's foot and the brake pedal is 113 mm (L113), giving the vehicle an aesthetic reminiscent of traditional luxury internal combustion vehicles.

According to the declared information, the Xiaomi YU7 will offer a All-wheel drive version with dual motor. The Maximum power of the front and rear motors will be 220 kW and 288 kW respectively, having a maximum speed of 253 km / hThe vehicle will be equipped with a ternary lithium-ion battery supplied by CATL, corresponding to the declared capacity of 101,7 kWh.
