Xiaomi YU7 Single Motor Certified: It Will Challenge the New Model Y

Today, China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (TENAA) announced a new batch of declaration catalogs for new cars, and among them appeared the Single-motor version of the Xiaomi YU7. Judging from the application pictures, the appearance of the Xiaomi YU7 and the dual-engine version are the same, both adopting the familiar design language. The bullet-shaped headlights are highly recognizable, and combined with the fang-shaped air intakes below, the sporty style is evident.

Xiaomi YU7 Single Motor Certified: It Will Challenge the New Model Y

La Xiaomi YU7 Single Motor features a design that does not go unnoticed. In the center of the roof is a laser radar, and the declaration information shows that a version without lidar is also available. On the B-pillar of the vehicle is a hole for the camera, which should be used for the vehicle's intelligent driving system. Xiaomi YU7 offers two styles of wheels, with sizes of 19 inches, 20 inches and 21 inches.

In terms of power system, the declared model this time is a single-engine version, using a TZ220XY110 model driving motor with a maximum power of 235 kW and equipped with lithium iron phosphate batteries. The declaration information of the dual-motor version of Xiaomi YU7 was announced in December last year. The maximum power of the front and rear motors is 220 kW and 288 kW respectively, the maximum speed is 253 km/h, and it is equipped with CATL ternary lithium batteries.

It may be a coincidence, but Tesla's new Model Y was also launched yesterday in China, with the rear-wheel drive version priced at 263.500 yuan (about 33.500 euros) and the long-range all-wheel drive version priced at 303.500 yuan (about 38.500 euros). The Xiaomi YU7 and Model Y are highly comparable. After the market launch of the two cars, many are wondering whether the Xiaomi YU7 can surpass the Model 3 like the Xiaomi SU7 did and surpass the Model Y in terms of sales.

According to Xiaomi's automotive plan, the Xiaomi YU7 is expected to be officially launched in June or July this year. The challenge to Tesla's Model Y is now officially open. With its sporty design, advanced driving technologies, and a competitive power system, the Xiaomi YU7 is set to be a strong contender in the electric car market.
