Let's go back to talking about smartwatch clone 1:1 of the most appreciated Apple Watch series, icon of the desire that cannot be fulfilled for all those who belong to the Android group. The dream could become reality, thanks to the DT No.1 DT Ultra 3 Pro, clone of the second generation Apple Watch Ultra and that seems to have what it takes to make me fall in love with it. Many gems in terms of functionality, responding to an excellent quality/price ratio, which I want to tell you about in this review.

DT No.1 DT ULTRA 3 PRO Design and packaging

The sales package appears to be quite well-finished, although the contents do not excite, as they include only the smartwatch, the “wireless” charging base in full Apple Watch Ultra style and a user manual, unfortunately only in English and Chinese. In reality, as you can see from the photo above, you can decide whether to receive a pair of TWS earphones or a sports silicone strap, always for free. In my case, I actually received a strap that I particularly appreciated and liked compared to the standard one.

The clone watch is sturdy and well assembled, counting on a 1:1 aesthetic with that of the Cupertino smartwatch, that is, a square-shaped case made of metal alloy, which brings the overall weight (including strap) to about 65 grams, not very light but I assure you that it is comfortable on the wrist, while the overall dimensions of the wearable are 49 x 44 x 11.5 mm, practically identical to the original, except for the thickness which for the Apple Watch Ultra is 14.4 mm. The back is made of plastic, but of good workmanship, so much so that it resembles the ceramic inserted in the Apple device. Here we find the sensors, such as the heart rate monitor and SpO2 value, inserted in the protrusion that is also used for wireless charging and then the buttons for the quick release of the strap.

Speaking of strap, this one is made of a material that resembles silicone but also rubber, in any case resistant, comfortable but not very breathable although fully compatible with the original attachments, therefore with a 49 mm pitch, so as to also find others on the market easily. Instead, I preferred the second sports-type strap, which allows the skin to breathe better.

On the left side of the metal case, we find the system speaker that will play multimedia content when needed, as well as acting as a hands-free device for Bluetooth calls. We then find a metallic orange button, which allows you to call up the sports activity monitor. On the right side we have a physical crown that reacts to rotation, meaning it will allow us to move within the system menus. A feature undoubtedly copied from the most famous Apple Watch, so much so that we also have a small haptic feedback via vibration.

This crown is also used to turn the display on/off, return to the home page. We then have an additional button that recalls the quick toggles. Finally, the aesthetics of the DT ULTRA 3 PRO case is completed by the presence of a microphone, useful not only for calls, but also for giving commands to the voice assistant, compatible with Google, Siri and Alexa.

Display

The display of the DT No.1 DT ULTRA 3 PRO does not disappoint at all, as it is large in size, AMOLED type and equipped with HD resolution. In particular, we find ourselves in the presence of a 2,04-inch panel with a resolution of 410 x 502 pixels, protected with a tempered shockproof glass, slightly below the main body precisely to protect from scratches. The display frames are not as thin as those of the Apple Watch Ultra, but for a greater WOW effect, you can choose from the hundreds of free watchfaces present in the app, perhaps with a black background. There is also the Always On Display, which you can also activate in periods of hours (for example from 18:00 to 23:00). We do not find a sensor for automatic lighting, forcing you to adjust it manually each time based on the situation you are in, but already at average values, the readability of the contents on the screen under direct sunlight is excellent, as is the reproduction of colors with rather deep blacks.

Sensors, range and performance

In terms of battery, I can't tell you the real capacity in terms of mAh but I can assure you that it gives about 4 days of autonomy at full capacity, before needing to be recharged. Charging takes place via a wireless base typical of the Apple watch, in about 2,5 hours. Autonomy that corresponds to the basic expectations of this watch, as we do not find a GPS but the integrated Bluetooth 5.3 module allows you to make calls. We do not have a real IP68 certification, although swimming and other water sports are present among the monitorable sports. The sports section itself is not one of the strong points of this wearable, even if the monitorable activities are definitely many and of the most disparate, but more than anything the dedicated metrics are always the same, for all sports. I can say, however, that the reliability of the data collected is similar to a Mi Band 7, but the report is less complete and accurate. Heart rate and SpO2 values are superimposable to those of a pulse oximeter.

The sleep monitor is also precise and reliable as expected from a smart watch, while in terms of additional features, the brand has included functions such as wrist games, breathing relaxation but also the possibility of transferring a QR code created on a smartphone, to the watch display to always have it at hand on your wrist, like a digital business card. NFC is present for payments, but don't rejoice, it can only be used on oriental circuits such as AliPay, Wechat, Union Pay etc.. However, you can use it to clone, for example, smart lock cards.

English: Using Bluetooth 5.3 we could instead make calls directly from the wrist, even being able to store favorite contacts, or we will be free to dial the number to call. The quality of calls through the speaker is very satisfactory, as is the microphone that returns a good quality level of our voice to our interlocutor. I appreciated that you can insert an alarm (up to 6) directly from the smartwatch without having to go through the application, while the rest of the functions are the standard ones we are used to with other similar devices, such as stopwatch, timer, weather, music control, remote shutter etc. Under the smart area, or the reception of notifications, unfortunately nothing to report, we can receive them from all the apps on the smartphone but we cannot respond, nor view photos, audio and even less emojis, or at least not all of them. Furthermore, notifications are not "synchronized" with the viewing on the smartphone, so if read on one device or the other, they will remain in memory on one device or the other.

One-of-a-kind features

Among the unique functions that we find only on this DT ULTRA 3 PRO, we have the ability to import videos directly onto the watch (a special program is required) using the integrated memory of about 4 GB of which about 3,2 are actually usable. We can also import music and transfer photos for an album to consult at any time. Speaking of music, we can also pair TWS headphones to listen to music without disturbing those around us, but the earphones will not work when making a phone call.

There is also a native app for recording voice notes, which can be retrieved by connecting the device to the PC. In fact, the “wireless” base is not really wireless, that is, it integrates magnetic pogo pins. At the software level we also have a sort of store where we can download applications such as CHAT GPT, an alternative weather forecast with attractive graphics, a translator and a revisitation of Google Maps. All very nice if it weren't for the fact that at the moment everything works in English. For example, the translator allows you to make a translation only from English/Chinese and vice versa, just as Google Maps does not offer a keypad to give the destination but only recognizes voice commands in English and believe me it is really difficult to give the destination and have it recognized correctly, in addition to the fact that if for example you set a restaurant/bar or other as the destination the directions will be given in Chinese. The company guarantees, however, that a future update will bring the functionality also in Italian.

Management application

The application with which to synchronize all the data is called WearPro, available for Android and iOS systems. There are some flaws, such as an imprecise translation into Italian, but from the app you can also change watchfaces, some of which are even animated and there are really so many, one more beautiful than the other. Speaking of watchfaces, you can create personalized ones with photos or videos. For the rest we can view the historical data of steps, sleep, heart rate, pressure and SpO2, but above all set the settings of the smartwatch. Simple but functional app, but in general those who buy watches of this type in my opinion do so purely for an aesthetic rather than functional reason.

DT No.1 DT ULTRA 3 PRO Price and conclusion

The wearable from the Chinese brand debuted on the official store at the incredible price of around 34 euros, with a free TWS earphones or replacement strap. A very interesting price if we consider that the device offers an AMOLED screen and many interesting functions starting with Bluetooth calling. Certainly at this price we would not have expected to compete with the original Apple Ultra, but I can say that this money is well spent. So much aesthetics, so many compromises, but overall the typical functions of a low-cost smartwatch are performed in an excellent and satisfactory manner. Good display, compatibility with accessories such as straps and display protectors of the original Apple, good battery life and fun features such as wrist calling, make this clone very interesting.
