YouTube is now multilingual: here is the dubbing in over 40 languages

YouTube announced the launch of support for multilingual audio tracks, which will allow creators to add multiple tracks to their new and existing videos, helping them reach a wider audience. Once downloaded, viewers will be able to select a different audio track from the same menu where they can currently adjust other options like subtitles or audio quality.

As we said, the feature has already been tested some time ago by a famous US content creator, MrBeast. In any case, this function has been used in addition 3500 videos worldwide in 40 different languages. These at least according to the data provided by the company. As of last month, more than 15% of the watch time of dubbed videos came from viewers watching the video in a different language than the original recording. YouTube also reports that viewers have watched more than 2 million hours of dubbed videos every day on its platform in January only.

Initially, this feature will only be supported for i long content of YouTube, but the company tells us that it is already testing the feature for i short videos. The ability to customize the audio track of the video will be available globally on YouTube on desktop, mobile, tablet and TV later this year.
