ZTE Grand S3: the world's first device with an eyepiece sensor

Like all the big companies in the industry, ZTE also took advantage of the MWC 2015 to present its new top of the range. We're talking about the ZTE Grand S3, a smartphone that certainly does not stand out for its visually inspected design, but which features a really interesting feature.

Let's see what the technical features of this device mean:

  • display by 5.5 inches with resolution Full HD;
  • Qualcomm CPU Snapdragon 801;
  • 3 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal memory;
  • rear camera by 16 megapixel with dual flash LEDs;
  • 8 megapixel front camera;
  • battery by 3100 mAh;
  • Android KitKat 4.4.4.

Certainly not a top of the range from 2015, but as you anticipate before, the Grand S3 has a really interesting feature: in the front camera, in fact, a biometric eyepiece sensor that allows you to scan your user's iris associated with the device and to perform operations such as unlocking the device or even making payments. The sensor in question is developed by EyeVerify and uses a technology called Eyeprint ID that allows you to carry out the above operations by leveraging the uniqueness of the vein path in our eyes.

So much to ZTE's hat, who was the first to implement on a smartphone such technology that with time it can do nothing but improve.
