As we all know, Huawei has been working on its HarmonyOS operating system for a couple of years already, with the second generation of the OS having been officially presented recently.
ZTE confirms: it will not adopt Huawei's HarmonyOS
The operating system that according to Huawei should replace Android, at least in China, is therefore ready to be used by other smartphone manufacturers, as well as clearly on devices produced by Huawei itself. Among the Chinese companies that may be interested in Huawei's OS is, or at least was, ZTE.
Well, today the ZTE executive made it clear that the company has no plans to adopt Huawei's HarmonyOS for its smartphones in 2021. The company has in fact as its first goal to bring 5G technology and unify its smartphone brands. we refer to ZTE, Nubia and Red Magic.
So at least for the moment ZTE seems to have other purposes than to adopt Huawei's operating system. Recall that HarmonyOS was launched in 2019, immediately after the company was prevented from using Google's Android operating system due to sanctions imposed by the US government.
At that time there was talk of a possible adoption of Huawei's OS by other Chinese smartphone manufacturers, but to date no company has come forward.
