What has been anticipated as the next Redmi gaming phone with the MediaTek Dimensity 1200 chipset on board has just returned to be talked about.
Redmi gaming phone closer and closer: possible launch within this month
The update comes from the general manager of Redmi and vice president of Xiaomi Group, Lu Weibing, who has just stated on the Weibo social network (the Chinese Twitter) that: "There will be many new products in March, there will also be a device with a flat screen AMOLED E4 ".
According to Chinese media, Lu Weibing refers to Redmi's next smartphone dedicated to gaming, whose name we do not yet know, but which will most likely be released in March.
What we do know for sure though, is that the device will be powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 1200 as a chipset. This SoC is based on a 6nm manufacturing process, with 1 x Cortex A78 at 3.0 GHz + 3 x Cortex A78 at 2.6 GHz and 4 x Cortex A55 at 2.0 GHz and includes an integrated 5G modem with 5G UltraSave technology.
As for the GPU, the Dimensity 1200 comes with an ARM G77 MC9, then there is support for UFS 3.1 2-lane memory and LPDDR4X RAM with a maximum frequency of 2133MHz.
For photography, the SoC supports a sensor with a maximum capacity of 200 megapixels, while for the display, the maximum supported resolution is QHD + with a refresh rate of 90Hz. If you go down to the FHD + resolution, however, you will get up to 168Hz refresh rate.
Finally, other features supported by the chipset include Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, standalone and non-standalone 5G, and Sub-6 2CC waves.
In any case, now we just have to wait a few more weeks to find out about May info on Redmi's first gaming phone.
