Official DJI Mavic 3, also in Italy: everything you need to know

We have seen in advance the prices of DJI Mavic 3 and the Cine version but, to date, nothing official about the specifications. Today is the day: the world famous company for drones of high end and very high end debuted his latest masterpiece. This third generation Mavic is undoubtedly the best ever built and the (official) prices bear witness to this. So let's go and see all the specifications in detail.

DJI today officially unveiled the DJI Mavic 3 line of drones. There are two models of the series: Mavic 3 and Mavic 3 Cine. These are the company's most advanced drones, using a dual camera system for video capture for the first time. Clearly, the devices have significantly increased in price. Drones are all the same, except that the Mavic 3 Cine supports video recording Apple ProRes 422HQ with resolution 5.1K and up to 50 fps and also has an integrated (and non-removable, at least by the user himself) SSD hard drive of 1 TB.

As for the optics, the diamond point of the company's drones, the main camera it is a huge sensor of the 4/3 ″ format with a resolution of 20 megapixels. We then find a goal wide-angle lens with a focal length of 24 mm. The second camera uses a 1/2 ″ optical format sensor with a resolution of 12 megapixel with an aperture of f / 4,4 and a focal length of 162mm. 

Lo optical zoom is 7x, but there is also one digital zoom 4x, consequently the hybrid zoom is almost 28x. The device camera was created in collaboration with Hasselblad, a solution called Hasselblad Natural Color Solution that promises “incredibly natural colors straight from the camera”.

The camera is mounted on a three-axis motorized hinge, thanks to which image stabilization is provided. As previously reported, drones use a battery from 5000 mAh large capacity. Thanks to this, the flight time of the DJI Mavic 3 increases from 31 minutes in the Mavic 2 to 46 minutes. Since Apple ProRes 422 HQ is present, Mavic 3 users will have to "settle" for shooting MPEG-4 AVC / H.264, HEVC / H.265 video at 200 Mbps. maximum resolution is 4K at 120 fps.

Along with autonomy, the obstacle avoidance system has significantly improved. For example, the sensors of the DJI Mavic 3 now detect obstacles at a distance of 200 meters, not at 20 meters as before. The drones have also received support for proprietary technologies Advanced RTH (the abbreviation stands for Return To Home), APAS 5.0 and ActiveTrack 5.0.

Everything we have listed makes the smarter drones: find a shorter route back home, track objects better (i.e. in this mode they can freely change altitude and direction of flight), etc .. Finally, the DJI Mavic 3 has received a communication and control system improved owner called OcuSync 3+. The flight autonomy (albeit in ideal conditions) is 15 km, while Full HD video is transmitted to the user's smartphone or controller at a speed of 60 fps.
