Android smartphones are losing the trust of users

La customer loyalty habitual is considered to be one of the key characteristics that manufacturers and analytics companies focus on. According to the latest research by SellCell, the operating system Android has a number of problems which lead users to want to switch to a competing platform. But 91,9% of surveyed iPhone owners intend to buy an Apple smartphone again.

Among the respondents, only 21% said they belong to the Apple ecosystem, 45% simply love the iPhone and don't want to change anything, the 16% he has never had a problem with Apple smartphones, 10% consider switching to another OS enough, and 8% are not ready for something new.

Among iPhone owners who are still considering switching to smartphones from other brands, Samsung (46%) and Google (35%) have priority. 6,1% of users are ready to look towards LG and 3,7% are ready to look towards Motorola devices. As with other brands, Samsung is still the leader among Android smartphones in terms of fidelity: 85,7% in 2019 and 74% in 2020. The situation with Google Pixel buyers is much worse at 65,2% and bad for LG with 37,4% and Motorola with 29%.

According to experts, such a situation could be related to Android privacy issues, while Apple's management claims not to collaborate with intelligence services and not to transfer users' personal data to them. Consequently, 52,9% of users who intend to abandon Samsung want to switch to iPhone and for nearly a third, protecting their privacy is paramount.
