Those who knew the OPPO brand know very well that the company is famous not only for the quality of its products, but also for adopting and often launching new technologies, real concept phones that are soon copied by other telephony OEMs. So, at the gates of 2021, OPPO is preparing to announce a smartphone with an expandable display, a sort of combination of flexible panels and a new revolutionary design compared to the classic foldables.
OPPO has recently already amazed with the prototype of the X21 model, but apparently the Chinese company has other axes in its sleeves and in particular the colleagues of LetsGoDigital have had access to the internal documentation of the manufacturer, discovering interesting details on a completely new device and innovative.
From what was discovered by the Dutch colleagues, it emerges that the new OPPO concept phone will be designed with the collaboration of the stylist Tom Ford and that we will find an expandable screen that will allow you to switch from an ultra-compact smartphone to a practically doubled device, as if it were a parchment.

The renderings published really leave you breathless for the beauty and the idea of being able to insert a smartphone in a pocket that doubles if necessary, just as it happened decades ago with shell designs. Furthermore, the photographic sector has been carefully designed to present an elegant appearance: there are 3 sensors supplied with the presence of LED flashes, but a small hole also seems to reveal the presence of a fourth sensor, probably TOF.
The back appears to be covered in brown leather, giving a premium look to the phone, which of course will be produced in a few examples and aimed at users with a large wallet. Another detail that attracts attention is that the back seems to have an extra display so that the user can take selfies using the main camera, in fact we do not find any selfie camera on the front.
In reality, the rear could simply be a protection of the expandable display mechanism and therefore for the selfie camera OPPO could adopt a solution integrated into the display. For further details we must wait for official news, but at the moment neither OPPO nor the designer have commented on the matter. For those unfamiliar with him, Tom Ford is a renowned American designer who has worked extensively for the Italian brand Gucci.
