Korean tech giant Samsung has just announced the new Samsung ISOCELL HP1 sensor.
Samsung ISOCELL HP1 announced: the first 200MP mobile sensor arrives
The ISOCELL HP1 is a 200MP 1 / 1.22 ″ sensor based on Samsung's most advanced 0,64 μm technology. The ultra-high resolution ISOCELL HP1 has a small footprint and can be well integrated into today's various portable devices. With the ISOCELL HP1, photos taken will have clearer details, even if the image is cropped or resized.
Furthermore, in order to pursue excellent shooting in the most extreme low light conditions, the ISOCELL HP1 uses the new ChameleonCell technology, as a pixel synthesis technology, it can use the 4 × 4, 2 × 2 or full pixel mode based on the environment of use.
In a low light environment, the ISOCELL HP1 “transforms” into a 12,5 Mp image sensor with large 2,56 μm pixels by joining 16 adjacent pixels. The large 2,56 μm synthesized pixels can absorb more light, have higher sensitivity and shoot bright and clear images indoors or in the evening.
In a well-lit outdoor environment, the ISOCELL HP200's 1MP “full firepower” helps mobile devices capture ultra-high resolution photos.
Samsung's sensor can shoot 8K video at a rate of 30 frames per second (fps) and minimize field loss. By merging 4 adjacent pixels, the resolution is reduced to 50Mp or 8192 × 6144 to shoot 8K (7680 × 4320) video without cropping or reducing the full resolution of the image.
