Just as written in the title of the article, the Chinese smartphone (and not only) manufacturer seems to be building a new headquarters located in eastern China, in Nanjing in the province of Jiangsu. Lei Jun, Xiaomi's president and chief executive officer, said the company currently has two stores in Nanjing and plans to increase the number to four by the end of January, while by the end of 2018 the expansion plans to have 11 shops in this town.
Mr. Lei Jun also said that Xiaomi is going through a new cycle of high-speed growth and that the strategy of expanding not only the stores but also the headquarters is a requirement not to block the general development of the same.
Xiaomi's East China headquarters will focus on the discovery of new technologies and new models, as well as the development of intelligent hardware services and the Internet of Things. The integration with local companies will allow Xiaomi to optimize the use of its supply chain.
Xiaomi has already established a research and development center in Nanjing six years ago, which over time has contributed to the production and development of smartphones of the MIUI brand and development team, with more than 100 active employees recruiting more and more employees in the local district.
