Among the products featured on the Shenzen stage, last 31 May 2018, we also find the new viewer Xiaomi Mi VR Standalone, that, as the name suggests, does not need anything else for the functioning as it has everything integrated into one's body. There are two variants to have been presented, namely the one with 32 GB of internal storage proposed at the price of 1499 yuan, about 200 euros, and the variant from 64 GB of storage proposed to 1799 yuan, about 240 euros.
The viewer Xiaomi Mi VR Standalone was created thanks to the partnership with Oculus, that allowed to bring on the scene a quality product but as usual characterized by a reasonable price. On balance, the virtual reality viewer is similar to a high-performance smartphone that also offers a VR optical system, various sensors and a sensory joystick. No telephone or other connectivity is required, but simply by using the integrated WiFi module we can access an extraordinary world without having any cable.

We find a processor Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 and a integrated battery from 2600 mAh, while at the optical level we have available a sultra clear screen with 2K resolution and dynamic refresh rate up to 72 Hz, which reduces the delay in images. A diffractive optical system specially designed by Oculus that uses custom designed Fresnel lenses reduce the glare and vertigo experienced by users of VR products of previous generations.
On balance the Xiaomi Mi VR Standalone is the Chinese version of Oculus Go, acclaimed by the trade press. It will be a case that behind Oculus we find our friend Hugo Barra that from 23 January 2017, announced that he had left Xiaomi for health reasons and to return to work and live in Silicon Valley. Then, in April last year, Hugo announced that he had joined Facebook and led the Oculus team in developing the virtual reality business.
But let's get back to what brought you here, namely the fact that the Xiaomi Mi VR Standalone in just 4 minutes it has achieved a sales record, as the first 100000 units have sold out. Xiaomi's goal is to sell over 1 million pieces, and if this is the beginning then the goal will be reached soon.
