Xiaomi, the well-known Chinese smartphone maker, recently launched its new horizontal folding screen flagship, the MIX Fold 3, which offers a “big screen” experience and high-level performance. However, not all users are attracted to this type of device, especially women, who prefer more compact and handy products. For this reason, Xiaomi is preparing its first smartphone with a vertical folding screen, the MIX Flips, which has just been certified.
Certified Xiaomi MIX Flip: it will be the brand's first clamshell folding
The MIX Flip appeared in the IMEI database with the model 2311BPN23C and should be presented later this year. The design and render images of this phone have already been previously revealed by some leaks and patents. The device adopts a clamshell solution, with a triple rear camera horizontally and a secondary screen below. The latter has a larger size than other similar products and can show more content, such as notifications, the time and incoming calls.
La rear camera is supported by Leica, the popular German photography brand, and promises to deliver superior image quality. The details of the sensors are not yet known, but the presence of a is assumed 50MP main lens it's one ultra-wide from 13 MP. There may also be a telephoto lens with 3X optical zoom.
The internal screen is a AMOLED panel with a central hole to accommodate the front camera. The internal screen size should be 6,81 inches with a Full HD+ resolution and a refresh rate up to 120Hz.
As for the hardware configuration, the MIX Flip could mount the Snapdragon 8 Gen2 processor or the future Snapdragon 8 Gen3, both manufactured by Qualcomm with 4nm technology. There RAM memory should be 12 GB LPDDR5 and storage space 256 GB UFS 3.1 or 4.0 not expandable. There battery would be 3.800 mAh with support to quick charge to 67W.
The operating system should be based on Android 13 customized with the MIUI 13 interface, optimized for foldable screens. The folding mechanism would be improved compared to the first generation and could guarantee greater resistance and less visibility of the fold. Furthermore, the internal screen would be protected by an ultra-thin glass (UTG) made by Samsung.
Finally, the price of the MIX Flip is not yet known, but it is estimated that it could be lower than that of the MIX Fold 3, which starts at 8.999 yuan (about 1.150 euros). We are talking about a number around 5.999 yuan (about 770 euros), which would make it one of the cheapest leaflets on the market.
