Just yesterday Xiaomi confirmed that it will launch the 13 series for the global market on February 26, the first day of the start of MWC 2023. Well, today Xiaomi revealed that it will also launch the new Xiaomi TV Stick 4K on February 14.
Official: new Xiaomi TV Stick 4K coming next week
Xiaomi has confirmed several features of its upcoming TV Stick 4K. As the name suggests, the HDMI stick will support 4K resolution and support 4K HDR content. The TV Stick will come bundled with a remote control. The remote will have hotkeys for multiple online streaming platforms like Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Disney Plus etc. Apart from this, the remote will also support Google Assistant and can be controlled via voice commands.
The stick features a compact and portable design and will support Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos content. According to Chinese media, the device will have the built-in Xiaomi Patchwall UI based on the Android TV operating system. Users can choose to download any third-party application from the Google Play Store integrated into the user interface.
As for performance, the new Xiaomi TV Stick 4K will be powered by an unspecified quad-core processor and will be able to transmit content directly from the smartphone to the TV.
Recall that Xiaomi launched a 4K TV Stick in December 2021. That stick already allowed you to install apps and gave you access to over 7.000 apps and games on the Google Play Store. Also, it integrated Google Assistant and Chromecast. In terms of hardware, the old TV Stick 4K is powered by a quad-core Cortex-A35 CPU and Mali-G31 MP2 GPU, 2GB of RAM, and 8GB of storage. For connectivity you have 2.4GHz/5GHz Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5.0. The stick ran with Patchwall UI based on Android TV 11.
Finally, the TV Stick 4K 2021 supports AV1, VP9, H.265, H.264, MPEG-2, MPEG-1 codecs, as well as Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos DTS HD content.
