The Xiaomi Mi Mix is a phone that many dream of possessing thanks to its unique design with the display from 6.4 inches which covers almost the entire front of the smartphone. However, a lot of news circulated about it device fragility, and so, someone has thought well of "Overstretched" the Mi Mix. To give vent to his "anger" is Zack of the YouTube channel JerryRigEverything that in the video published on the net shows, however, that the Mi Mix it is a far from weak device.
In the video after unboxing and turning on the smartphone, Zack focuses on the tests showing that the screen is much more resistant to scratches than you think, like most other devices on the market with Gorilla Glass. Furthermore compared with an iPhone 7 JetBlack the ceramic surface of the Mi Mix, which on the Mohs scale has a hardness of 8, is much more resistant, as the scratches generated by the tests carried out are almost null.
Even the fingerprint sensor located in the back of the device, also in ceramic, is infinitely more durable than the one mounted on the Galaxy S7, as are the power and volume buttons. The rear camera is promoted by the tests carried out but the flash unfortunately not as it is protected by mere plastic.
The so-called fire test, submitting the Mi Mix display to lighter burns, which seem to hurt the screen that is promoted to full marks. Zack then goes to the bending test, where the ceramic body of the Mi Mix stands out; the phone in fact suffers minimal “damage”.
The only negative result is the part of the back cover which is slightly protruding from the guides but is very easily put back in its place. The screen appears to be dead at first, but turning the display off and on again solves the problem.
Overall, the Mi Mix comes out incredibly well from the tests carried out, considering the nature of its design. Zack didn't do a drop test, which is probably the most important of all these tests, but we'll probably see that soon too.
