A couple of days ago the was launched in China Redmi Notes 12 Turbo, a device with an exceptional price-specification ratio with the new chip on board Snapdragon 7+ Gen2. Today, its biggest competitor, the Realme GT Neo5 SE, with the same processor on board.

We therefore decided to compare the two devices to understand which of the two is the real best buy of the moment; let's find out together!

Common specifications

Let's start with the shared specs, which are actually less than you'd expect in two smartphones in the same price range. These include the processor Qualcomm Snapdragon 7+ Gen2, the real highlight of both devices. Compared to the previous generation 7 series, the CPU performance has increased by 50%.

Apart from the chipset, the two smartphones have in common the presence of a 64MP camera,infrared emitter and NFC module to be able to make electronic payments or other.

Still staying on the performance theme, the Realme GT Neo5 SE has a VC dissipation system with surface of 4500mm2, while the Note 12 Turbo has a dissipation area of 3725mm2.

As for the screen, the Realme GT Neo5 SE is equipped with a 6,74-inch flat display with 1,5K resolution and a high refresh rate of 144Hz. On the other hand, the Redmi Note 12 Turbo comes with a 6,67-inch screen with Full HD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. Furthermore, PWM dimming reaches 2160Hz on the Realme e device 1920Hz on that of Redmi.

Then a the GT Neo5 SE comes out the winner here too, with a screen with superior resolution, refresh rate and dimming.

In terms of battery and charging, the Realme GT Neo5 SE comes with a battery 5500mAh, while this one has one capacity of 5000mAh aboard the Note 12 Turbo. Realme's device also does better in terms of fast charging, supporting it a maximum input power of 100W, while the other party arrives at one maximum power of 67W.

Still on the subject of autonomy, the Realme uses the system SUPERVOOC S who can get aphone charging efficiency of up to 99,5%, therefore very efficient. We do not have the charging efficiency data available for the Redmi device.

The only real victory of the Redmi Note 12 Turbo compared to the Realme GT Neo5 SE lies in the photographic sector. Both smartphones have a 64MP main camera, an 8MP ultra wide camera and a 2MP macro camera, but the Note 12 Turbo enjoys OIS optical stabilization on the main sensor. Which should translate into better low-light photos.

Finally, in the "other" category we put all the specifications that did not fit into the other categories. For example, the presence of a fingerprint sensor under the screen on the GT Neo5 SE instead of lateral as on the Note 12 Turbo (which is better is debatable). What is not questionable is instead the system Dual-frequency GPS on the Realme device than that single frequency of the Redmi smartphone.

In conclusion, the Realme GT Neo5 SE seems to be the real best buy, if not for the lack of optical stabilization which for many may be a prerequisite.
