How many times do we receive unwanted calls both on the landline and on our mobile phone? Up until now, there has been some sort of patch blocking some of these calls. From today, however, thanks also to the effort of Simone Baldelli, deputy of Forza Italy e president of the parliamentary commission of inquiry on consumer and user protection, the situation will improve for mobile phones. Let's go see the details of the news.
A revolution for mobile phones: the register of oppositions also extends to mobile devices. No more unwanted calls
The news comes directly from the Privacy Guarantor which announced on its website, and not only, news about unwanted and automatic calls on mobile phones. To be honest, the news are two, but let's go in order. Everything starts from the decree law Capienze (Dl 139/2021) that gives poco has been converted into law. There are two fundamental and improvement changes:
- on the one hand it comes reinforced that barrier already created by the register of oppositions according to which one was "protected" in some way from non-automatic calls made by an operator
- elsewhere it comes extended such action also to cell phones: it will therefore be possible for mobile devices register in the register of oppositions to avoid unwanted calls
How to register in the opposition register?
There is no longer the need to register with the opposition register by sending a registered letter. To do this, there is a much more convenient tool on the registry website (which you can find above): this provides the filling out a simple form And that's it. The e-mail and telephone call with automatic answering methods remain active.
It will be possible to insert, in a single form, more than one number (fixed and mobile). From what we learn, the fines, in the event that a company violates a user's right to object, are very heavy: penalties of up to 20 million euros or, for companies, up to 4% of the total turnover of the previous year.
