As we know Oppo's next custom interface, ColorOS 8, is coming in beta for some devices. We talked about it extensively in this article. Dark theme
Il dark theme is a feature that we cannot do without today. A little to make your eyes rest, a little to save on battery, functionality Dark Mode it is widely used. ColorOS 8 takes a step forward implementing different shades of color. There will be in particular: black, "medium" gray and "light" gray.
Interface customization
Similarly to the skins of other manufacturers, even that of Oppo has seen fit to allow the grouping of screens into one. In addition to this there is also the possibility to customize the ringtones, which is really very nice. Animated wallpapers will also be introduced as has been done with the Super Wallpapers of MIUI 12.
Quick settings and toggles
As well as for Real UI, clone of ColorOS, the possibility of change the shape of the toggles. Squares in quick settings can now have six different shapes. One-handed mode has been enhanced: i quick toggles will be moved to the bottom to facilitate its use. The notification center, very similar (if not the same) to that of Xiaomi's MIUI 12.
Always-on-display (AOD) on ColorOS 8

Display
The display settings have also been changed. Regarding the model and version of smartphone, it will be possible to find options for resolution options, refresh rate, O1 Ultra Vision Engine, HDR video, DC Dimming and Edge Lightning.
Fingerprint shortcut and animation customization
The new version of ColorOS also finds improvements in the fingerprint sensor. Clearly only the models that support unlocking by touch on the display will be able to see these innovations. In particular, there are two: the shortcuts through the touch of the fingertip (phono left) and le new unlock animations (photo on the right).
Camera
The changes will affect the settings of the camera. The livelli (present for example on OxygenOS) and enhanced the portrait mode as well as the mode AI Ultra Clear. Improvements also in the zoom area with "the introduction of the inertial option for greater fluidity in the change of focal length". The possibility of recording the sound of a 3D video has also been added.
Optimized multitasking
Multitasking has also been boosted, this time a bit in the style of OnePlus' OxygenOS. In particular, the option that allows you to view the icons of the applications that are running. In this way, in addition to having all the processes under an eye, we will be able to specifically choose which process to eliminate.
Oppo Relax mode on ColorOS 8
Already present from version 7, this option will allow us in the future to take advantage of more sounds and music compared to now. Also in loop.
Game space on ColorOS 8
The game mode that seems to be of interest to all brands. We have seen how Xiaomi has implemented one analogous mode on Xiaomi Mi 10 Ultra. Oppo will do the same thing: it will be a tuning system to make a game perform better, obviously based on user preferences. You will be able to choose three predefined settings: Low-Power, Balanced and Competition. In addition to this, choices of particular optimizations according to what we need. For example, you can choose to block accidental touches rather than reduce the bandwidth use of apps in the background.
