DJI launches the new gimabl RS 3 and RS 3 Pro with LiDAR focus

We are used to talking about DJI when it comes to drones, but anyone who knows the Chinese company knows that it also has gimbals in the catalog. The more or less analog arms that serve to lengthen the point of view of smartphones and cameras, as well as stabilize them, are now renewed. In fact, the company presented the new ones DJI RS 3 and RS 3 Pro. Let's go see the details of each of them and the prices for Italy.

DJI is not only drones but also gimbals: here are the new RS 3 and RS 3 Pro, complete with LiDAR focus, which have now also arrived in Italy

DJI has officially unveiled its new line of gimbal stabilizers for professional cameras. The RS 3 and 3 Pro guarantee the 20% more stabilization efficiency. In addition, the company announced an unprecedented long-range wireless video transmission kit. The new generation of professional stabilizers succeeds the "RSC 2" line of 2020. The RS 3 represents the most basic model that does not abstain from advanced innovative features, such as its new design with automatic locking and unlocking of the axes, eliminating the need for manual setup and allowing users to start video recordings in seconds.

Compact, the DJI RS 3 can be connected to the camera via Bluetooth to start recording via the controls on the 1.8 "OLED screen. This replaces the barely functioning monochrome panel of the RSC 2. The new models inherit the technology "SuperSmooth"Of the previous generation to increase gimbal torque and mitigate residual motion with extreme efficiency," even in fast moving scenarios or when used focal lenses equivalent to 100 mm".

New is the Gimbal Mode Switch, which allows the fast switching between modes Pan Follow, Pan and Tilt Follow and FPV. These modes allow you to lock certain axes of the gimbal so that only specific rotations are allowed. Weighing in at just 1.3 kg, this model is still capable of support cameras up to 3kg.

The RS 3 model loses autonomy, but it does not fail to amaze. Its removable battery promises up to 12 hours of battery life (against 14 hours of the DJI RSC 2) and can be charged without being connected to the gimbal. The new generation supports the quick charge from 18W.

For those looking for a more advanced solution, the DJI RS 3 Pro has the same features as the RS 3, but adds the support for cameras up to 4.5kg and an interesting feature inherited from the Ronin 4D camera, theautofocus via LiDAR. This allows the gimbal to use a laser to accurately estimate the depth of scenes, even with manual focus lenses.

The "DJI LiDAR Range Finder", As the technology is called, is combined with"ActiveTrackPro”To track and keep the focus fixed on a specific object. Additionally, there is a new generation RS Focus engine that delivers three times the torque of the RSC 2 engine reducing noise by 50%.
