- updates and security are important for devices as we all know. The fact is that, as with smartphones, not all manufacturers are always generous. We actually saw how it is not the producers who decide, but the chip manufacturers. However, many OEMs have begun to improve in this regard by proposing one longest running upgrade policy. Amazon may be the most generous of all with its Fire TVs. Let's see why.
Amazon has revealed how many years of security updates the Fire TVs will receive - an undoubtedly positive policy for users and their pockets
Amazon offers at least four years of security updates to its Fire TV devices from 2016 onwards. The only ones not responding to this policy are the first generation Fire TV and TV Stick, launched in 2014 and 2015. But all other devices, including Fire TV Stick 2016, TV Recast and even those from third-party manufacturers such as Toshiba, TCL and Insignia, are suitable for at least four years of updates.
La even better news is that it could go further. The "countdown" for the update begins "after the device is last available for purchase". So, on paper, at least all these devices are guaranteed software security updates "at least until "2025. Consequently, if we do not intend to buy a new product of this kind from Amazon, we are sure that the one in our possession will remain updated for a long time.

We remember that Google it only has a standard two-year warranty for major software updates and then extends security updates about a year later. Samsung instead, last year, it announced to extend it to four years, at least for security updates. News that will undoubtedly please all users since, as we know, in recent years the market has always pushed more and more towards the "buy the newest one".
