Pixel Watch 2: one step forward and one step back

Some time ago we talked about the hardware equipment of Google Pixel Watch 2, the next generation smartwatch from the Mountain View company. Specifically we have seen that there will be a step forward thanks to the presence of the processor Snapdragon W5 + Gen 1 by Qualcomm. However, new sources say there will also be a "step back". Specifically we talk about construction materials. Here are the details about it.

Pixel Watch 2: a change of gear in the world of smartwatches. Space for aluminum and fragility

What does the future have to offer? According to the latest rumors, Google plans to step back into terms of durability with the Pixel Watch 2, opting for an aluminum frame instead of steel. Although steel is more resistant to daily wear and tear, aluminum è more light, an important factor for a wearable device, especially when used for sleep tracking.

However, the concerns that many smartwatch users and enthusiasts are having may be futile. While aluminum may show scratches and dents more easily, Google may be using weight savings to pack a bigger battery into the Pixel Watch 2. Together with the use of the more efficient Qualcomm W5+ Gen 1 chipset, the autonomy of the Google device could last much longer than the first model.

Also, it looks like Google is working on one revamped Fitbit app, which is expected to debut alongside the Pixel Watch 2 in the fall. While there are no new features, the app will offer "Coach" workouts as part of Fitbit Premium. In short, the second generation smartwatch appears to be a device promising, despite the switch to a less resistant material. With improved battery life and a lightweight design, we're eager to see what Google has in store for its next wearable.

The output of the smartwatch should be the next autunno but so far no rumors about an official release date.
