ADVANTAGE OF BONE CONDUCTION
I am not a professor and expert on the subject, but to put it briefly, bone conduction technology allows sound to be transmitted directly to the auditory nerve through the bone, without passing through the ear canal. This entails some notable advantages including avoiding damage to the eardrum due to excessive volume but also protecting it from diseases due to bacteria, generated by the introduction of foreign bodies and dirt. Furthermore, we can carry out physical activity or more generally, always remaining alert to what is happening in the surrounding environment without completely isolating ourselves.
UNBOXING AND CONSTRUCTION
Haylou does not offer packages that are particularly rich in content, but they are still well designed in shape and materials, although a hardback is used with the product specifications on the back and the image on the cover. In the case of the PurFree Lite inside we only find an instruction manual in English and Chinese and the charging cable. A welcome surprise is that the cable is not a proprietary cable as we have generally seen on headphones of this type but rather Type-C so even if you lose it you can use one of the many that you surely have at home.
The headphones have a headband shape, made with a titanium core and covered with a thin layer of silicone which softens the grip around the back of the neck without creating discomfort. We can twist it, bend it, stretch it without it suffering any damage, always returning to its original position while maintaining the elasticity necessary to adapt the product to all head sizes. Lightweight and flexible to put it simply, thanks to a low weight of just 27 grams. At the end we find the two 16 mm dynamic drivers from which highs, mids and lows come out in a well-balanced way as well as the sound in general being very clear and clean from any form of distortion.
Although the design is not innovative and at times may even seem rather "heavy", it actually rewards comfort during use, all in the name of stability, especially during training sessions. In fact, by wearing the headphones we can do any type of sporting activity, even the most extreme, as they will not move from their position and in this regard the Haylou PurFree Lite enjoy IP55 certification. Present at the call is the Qualcomm QCC3044 chipset capable of offering support for the aptX-HD codec, for top audio but also the possibility of connecting the earphones to two devices simultaneously, thanks to Dual Device connectivity via Bluetooth 5.2. We also have a microphone with double noise cancellation during calls, as you can also manage incoming calls on your smartphone, the performance of which was excellent.
On the right sleeve, which is the control unit of the product, on the lower side we find the charging input protected by a silicone door and the volume keys which also perform on/off and pairing functions, while on the upper part we have the button multifunction with which to manage general controls for calls and music, such as skip of the music track, rejection/acceptance and hanging up of a call, play/pause but if necessary we can also recall the voice assistant installed on the smartphone, simply by clicking single/double/triple or extended.
AUTONOMY
From a product like this we expect a long battery life and I confirm that this is the case, as we can use the Haylou PurFree Lite for up to 10 hours at a time, benefiting from a quick charge if necessary, which takes just 15 minutes of charge it can offer approximately 2 hours of use. More than enough autonomy to guarantee an entire week of training without having to recharge. For lovers of technical data, the integrated battery is a 170 mAh unit, I also underline that the new headphones from the Chinese brand have a USB-C input, which represents a great improvement, since even if you lose or damage the cable original supplied in the package, you can easily replace it with others you already have. Finally, again from the app we can set an auto-off, ideal for example if we forget the headphones turned on somewhere, in order to preserve the battery.
HOW DO THEY SOUND?
Of course, since they are bone conduction headphones, we cannot say that the Haylou PurFree Lite offer the best audio experience, but in their category they are undoubtedly the best. We can in fact praise that the sound that comes out of the 16 mm dynamic drivers is strong and clear, with good intensity and presence of bass and a balance with the other medium-high frequencies. Furthermore, the company has significantly improved the audio dispersion that generally occurs with headphones of this category, so whoever is next to you will not hear what you are listening to but above all will not hear the conversations with your interlocutor, respecting your privacy. The miracle is achieved thanks to the second generation transducer which improves sound quality by 17% and reduces energy consumption by 30% but above all reduces sound dispersion by 80%.
The extraordinary thing is that you will always remain alert to what is happening in the environment you are in, so you can safely run on the street listening to your favorite music or podcast, without missing any alarm noises. There is no internal memory so you will always have to carry the smartphone with you, but on the other hand I would not have expected this feature considering the very low cost at which they are sold. If you have never used bone conduction headphones, you may find the strength of the vibrations they produce strange, tickling the skin with an initial sensation of discomfort, but a few minutes will be enough to adapt and fully enjoy the comfort of these Haylou PurFree Lite, very light precisely for the adoption of elastic titanium. In any case, this is not a problem that interferes with the final experience, nor a plausible reason to advise against the purchase. As a tip, I recommend using headphones at a low volume and gradually increasing it over time. This is because the higher the volume, the greater the vibration, but once you get used to it, you just have to rejoice!
What is important is the low latency they enjoy thanks to the Qualcomm QCC3040 chipset, making them ideal also for watching streaming content, such as films and/or TV series, although it should be specified that the headband could create discomfort if you wear them lying down on the sofa or in bed.
COMPANION APP ALSO AVAILABLE
Economical but complete also from a software point of view, these Haylou PurFree Lite are supported by the proprietary Haylou Sound application, available for both Android and iOS. The app is simple but effective, allowing you to see the battery charge status, update the firmware, enable multipoint connection and possibly restore the product to factory conditions. There is also a double audio preset, the default one and one called "Outdoor", which should improve the listening experience even more in open environments, but personally I didn't notice any difference. The app could undoubtedly be improved and it is not certain that the company does not do so, making it more complete, which will probably happen considering that I have followed the development of the app since its birth and over time improvements have been introduced, almost all requested by the 'user.
WHO DO I RECOMMEND THEM TO?
Considering the nature of the product, if you love listening to music and multimedia content in general while isolating yourself from what is around you, these headphones are not suitable for you. They are certainly ideal for those who practice outdoor activities, such as running and cycling, being able to also manage incoming calls on your smartphone if necessary, remaining alert to road noise. In this regard, the microphones of these Haylou PurFree Lite are crazy, capable of eliminating all annoying noises, cleaning your voice from interference and returning it to your interlocutor in a clear and crystalline way. Even with a headwind I had no problems, such as the sudden choking of words.

CONCLUSIONS AND PRICE
You will no doubt have guessed that the Haylou PurFree Lite are a product that I promote with flying colors, especially for the price which these days, on launch offer, is equal to 34 euros at the current exchange rate. Available for purchase both on the company's official website and on the AliExpress store, the quality/price ratio is excellent for a bone conduction headphone (REAL), capable of guaranteeing sound quality both during calls and when listening to music, with a top construction and autonomy capable of guaranteeing you even a whole week of use on a single charge.
Type-C connector, large dynamic drivers, ultra-resistant and trendy colors are some of the improvements adopted compared to the competition, which certainly is not able to compete with the PurFree Lite due to the price. So what are you waiting for? Hurry and buy them because the offer is limited to a few days.
