Honor 50 and Honor 50 Lite official in Italy: Google services are back!

After being launched in China in June and having seen it announced in Malaysia last week, the former sub-brand of Huawei, Honor, officially presented the new Honor 50 also for the European market. But it is not the only one, because together with the premium smartphone, the Honor 50 Lite was also presented, a low-mid-range smartphone that makes its entrance for the first time.

So let's see the specifications starting from the Honor 50. The high-end smartphone sports an AMOLED screen of 6,57 inches with Full HD + resolution and which supports a refresh rate of 120Hz. The display features ultra-thin bezels on all sides giving it a high screen-to-body ratio.

As for performance, the Honor branded device is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G SoC, accompanied by 8GB of RAM and 128GB or 256GB of internal memory.

As for photography, the Honor 50 comes with a dual ring camera module design consisting of two concentric circles on the back. The four-camera setup includes a 108MP main camera, which joins an 8MP ultra wide-angle camera, a 2MP macro, and a 2MP depth-of-field camera. While in the front, we find a 32MP camera on the front.

Honor's device then integrates a decent-sized 4300mAh battery with 66W fast charging support. In particular, the brand claims that the smartphone can be recharged from 0 to 70% in 20 minutes while recharging to 100% will only take 45 minutes.

Finally, it is very important to point out that despite being a former Huawei brand, the smartphone still comes with Google Mobile Services, so it is possible to use it normally like any other device on the market without having to resort to subterfuge. For the operating system, the Honor 30 runs on Magic UI 4.2 based on Android 11.

From a price point of view, the device arrives in Europe with a starting price of 529 euros for the base model with a configuration of 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. While the 8GB version of RAM and 256GB of storage costs 599 euros.

Let's now move on to the cheaper Honor 50 Lite which instead is equipped with a 6,67-inch LCD screen with a Full HD + resolution of 2376 x 1080 pixels. The display also comes with support for a 120Hz refresh rate.

While the brand hasn't officially revealed this yet, the 50 Lite is expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 662 chipset paired with either 6GB or 8GB of RAM, while a single 128GB storage option is available.

The Honor 50 Lite arrives with a quad-camera setup in the rear consisting of a 64MP main camera and an 8MP ultra-wide camera with f / 2,4 aperture, a 2MP depth sensor and a 2MP macro camera. with f / 2,4 aperture.

As for autonomy, the device is powered by a 4300mAh battery with the same 66W Honor SuperCharge fast charge used in the Honor 50. It runs with the Magic UI 4.2 based on Android 11 and has a side-mounted fingerprint sensor . Other features include a 3,5mm audio jack, Bluetooth 5.1, USB Type-C port. Finally, the device will be available in Deep Sea Blue, Space Silver and Midnight.

As for the price of the Honor 50 Lite, it starts at 299 euros for the 6GB and 128GB variant, while the price of the 8GB and 128GB variant is still unknown.

Both the Honor 50 and the Honor 50 Lite will be sold in several European markets including France, Germany, Italy and Spain starting November 18th.
