As scheduled, Honor, the well-known Chinese smartphone brand, presented its new foldable smartphone model, theHonor Magic Vs2, during the launch conference for new Honor products held this afternoon. This is the third foldable smartphone launched by Honor after the V2 and theHonor V Purse, a smartphone with a foldable external screen, released last month.
Official Honor Magic Vs2: a masterpiece of design and technology in an ultra-thin and ultra-light folding body
The Honor Magic Vs2 stands out for its ultra-thin and ultra-light design, making it the lightest and thinnest foldable smartphone on the market. The weight of the Honor Magic Vs2 is only 229 grams, 2 grams less than the Honor Magic V2, and the thickness is only 5,1 mm when open and 10,7 mm when closed.
To achieve this amazing large and thin foldable screen experience, Honor has equipped the Honor Magic Vs2 with the “Honor Luban” titanium hinge, developed by Honor itself, which uses interlocking integrated molding technology to integrate the hinge axis cover and hinge body. Additionally, the support material has been upgraded to rare earth-based magnesium alloy, the lightest in the industry, which is i33% lighter than aluminum commonly used in the industry. This allowed the body weight to be further reduced without compromising resistance.
On the performance front, the Honor Magic Vs2 is equipped with a down-clocked 3.0GHz version of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen1. The smartphone also supports the GPU Turbo X and OS Turbo Memory chips developed by Honor, which improve graphics performance and data access speed. Furthermore, it supports the dual TEEOS security system, which guarantees double protection of data and payments.
As for the screen, the Honor Magic Vs2 has one 6.43 inch OLED external screen with a resolution of 2376×1060 and a screen ratio of 20:9. The internal screen is instead a 7.92 inch OLED with a resolution of 2272×1984 and a screen ratio of 9.78:9. Both screens support LTPO technology variable frequency from 1 to 120Hz, 3840Hz PWM regulation, 10-bit color depth and 3% DCI-P100 color gamut. The visual effect of the internal and external screens is practically the same, which offers a very uniform experience in daily use of the Magic Vs2.
As for the camera, the new foldable from Honor has one front camera from 16MP on both the internal and external screen. The rear camera module consists of one main camera from 50MPa 20MP telephoto camera (2.5X OIS) and a 12MP ultra-wide angle camera. Support it digital zoom up to 40X and the Eagle Eye function to capture images in any weather condition.
The Honor Magic Vs2 comes with a 5000mAh built-in battery and supports the quick charge from 66W. It can last 2 hours longer than the iPhone 15 Pro when using only the external screen.
Honor's Magic Vs2 runs on the MagicOS 7.2 operating system based on Android 13, which supports voice wake-up function for voice text input via input method and stylus compatibility on both internal and external screens.
The Honor Magic Vs2 is available in two versions and three colors. The 12GB+256GB version is priced at 6.999 yuan (approximately 909,37 euros), while that from 16GB+512GB is priced at 7.699 yuan (about 999,95 euro). The three colors are velvet black (feather fiber), glacier blue (feather fiber) and coral purple (smooth leather).
