After the big debut yesterday, the day in which the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 and 5 Pro was presented, the Chinese company returns to the attention of the rumors involving it about the imminent release of the equally expected Mi Mix 2S. And if Redmi Note 5 and 5 Pro are already contending for the best buy 2018 title around the mid-market, all that has circulated so far on the Mi Mix 2S will make him win the best buy top of the range. But if until now we have only had rumors about which we can make conjectures, today comes directly from XDA a certainty.
Not so much for what concerns the design that we can only give confidence to the last renders appeared online, through the social Weibo, but the certainties concern above all the existence of the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S device, but above all on the technical specifications (at least in part) that will compose the future smartphone. Indeed thanks to firmware files obtained (we do not know how) from the senior user @FunkyHuawei, the man behind the FunkyHuawei.club service, who started offering links to the OTA update files for some Xiaomi devices and who shared the Mi Mix 2S firmware files exclusively with XDA-Developers. The authenticity of the files according to some in-depth analysis carried out directly from the site is confirmed and therefore belonging to the 2S Mi Mix.
From the firmware files it emerges that the codename of the device is POLARIS and it will be powered by the processor Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 and will have one battery from 3400 mAh. It is also confirmed that the device will have on board the version Android 8.0 Oreo out of the boxwhich is great news as it means that the device will be compatible with Project Treble. The display will have a 18 aspect ratio: 9 with a resolution FHD + (2160 × 1080), feature confirmed thanks to the stock "polaris" wallpaper.
The previous rumors also suggested that the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S camera may support AI functions and tests have been found. By decoupling the MIUI files related to the camera application of the 2S Mi Mix it emerged that there will be support for scene recognition as: DOCUMENT, FLOWERS, FOOD, SKY, SUNRISE / SUNSET, CAT, DOG, GREEN PLANTS, NIGHT, SNOW, SEA, AUTUMN, CANDLE LIGHT, CAR, MAPLE LEAVES, GRASS, CITY, CLOUDY, CONTROLUCE and other 2 scenes whose translation is not clear.
