The liquid lens of Xiaomi Mi MIX was created by the former Apple partner

The liquid lens of Xiaomi Mi MIX it will be one of the things we will talk about in the coming weeks. Unfortunately, during today's conference where the remaining elements of the Mi 11 family, Lei Jun has heard poco well. His absence has undoubtedly brought a lot of discouragement but not so much for health (which we hope to be excellent anyway) as for why did not present the foldable smartphone we've all been waiting for. In this article we explained how liquid lens technology works, but who created it? A former partner of Apple, that is OFFILM.

The liquid lens of the upcoming Xiaomi Mi MIX was created by OFILM, a partner of Apple from poco "Hunted" by the bitten apple

The new Xiaomi Mi MIX It will not only be the company's first smartphone to feature a foldable screen, but also the first device in the world with liquid lenses. Xiaomi claims that such a lens allows the camera to be used in all scenarios (from telephoto to macro photography) and also provides a fast autofocus, very fast. Chinese media reported that the first liquid lens comes from OFFILM, one of the leading Chinese manufacturers.

Formerly OFILM (Oufeiguang in Chinese) worked on close contact with Apple, but last week the company released a document claiming that Tim Cook's company has terminated the partnership and stopped buying lenses from her. Once, Apple praised OFILM very warmly and the leader of the company, Tim Cook, defined the excellent brand technologies. We are not here to understand the reasons for the division, but it is very nice that in the space of a week we could understand a "change of jersey" (if we can call it that).

Clearly the collaboration between Xiaomi and OFILM is up but much more time than a week. However, it is not to be excluded (even if it is very unlikely) that at the base of the split between this company and Apple there are the links between it and Xiaomi. Regardless of this, Xiaomi calls liquid lens technology "magic" and says it will replace traditional lenses to create a device similar to the human eye.
