MediaTek, a leading smartphone chip manufacturer, announced today that a launch conference will be held on November 6th at 19pm of the new products in the Dimensity series, its range of high-end chips. The slogan of the event is “The era of all-big cores has arrived” and it is expected to be presented on MediaTek Dimensity 9300, the world's first chip to use Arm's new Cortex-X4 core.
MediaTek announces the presentation date of the Dimensity 9300
The Dimensity 9300 has already been spotted on a benchmark platform, Geekbench 6, mounted on an OPPO phone with the code PHZ110. The chip got a score of 2139 in single-core and 7110 in multi-core, showing considerable computing power. The phone was equipped with 16 GB of RAM and the chip had a CPU configuration with 1 core at 3,25 GHz, 3 cores at 2,85 GHz, and 4 cores at 2,00 GHz.
MediaTek has officially confirmed that the Dimensity 9300 will use the Arm's Cortex-X4 core, the first ultra-large core designed to deliver the highest possible performance in a single thread. The Cortex-X4 core is based on the 5 nanometer manufacturing process and has a maximum frequency of 3,5 GHz. Additionally, the chip will also have three Cortex-A720 cores, Arm's new large cores that promise a 20% improvement in performance and a 40% reduction in power consumption compared to the previous generation.
The Dimensity 9300 will therefore be the first chip to use one “1+3+4” configuration with all large or ultra-large cores, unlike current chips that use a combination of large and small cores. This should ensure greater efficiency and fluidity in the most demanding applications, such as gaming, virtual reality and artificial intelligence.
MediaTek also denied the rumors that were circulating about the Dimensity 9300 possibly overheating. The company stated that these are false and unfounded reports, which have not been verified by the original source. MediaTek added that the Dimensity 9300 can offer an excellent balance between performance and power consumption and that new product development with customers is progressing smoothly.
